Geauga County Fair Kicks Off its 201st Year: Photos

The Geauga County Fair has been around a long time; according to the event's website, it's the oldest county fair in Ohio and one of the oldest in the country. The first fair took place in 1823, and this year's event marks its 201st birthday.
In its two-century history, the Geauga County Fair has taken place through a variety of wars, the Great Depression and even the coronavirus pandemic.

And it's back in 2023, for a few more days. The first day of the fair brought in Northeast Ohioans to enjoy animal shows, a demolition derby, musical performances and more. It continues through the weekend and runs through Monday, Sept. 4 (Labor Day). Admission costs $10; special events, amusement park rides and other attractions require their own tickets.
