Super Joe

I enjoyed the "Where Are They Now?" feature story in your August issue. I'm not sure you realize the role Cleveland Magazine played in bringing Joe Charboneau back to Cleveland. In the spring of 1989, I heard through the grapevine that he was working in a bar in Arizona, and I went there to find him. I wrote a story about the experience and it was published in your August 1989 issue ("Super Joe: In a League All His Own").

After that, Joe was contacted by several companies in Cleveland and he ended up moving back. He has, of course, been active with the Cleveland Indians Fantasy Camp program as well as the things you mentioned in last month's article.

Every time I see him, I remind him that he'd still be working in a bar in Arizona if it wasn't for me. He always laughs, then, of course, punches me in the nose.

Naked Disdain

Just noticed your very newsworthy article "Our Naked City" [August 2004]. What a wonderful complement to your monthly combination of advertisements and high-school-caliber gossip. The actual "artistic" stunt itself was absurd. Leave it to your magazine to follow up and glorify this asinine group (not a pun). Right now, I am looking forward to this year's renewal form for your magazine. I shall file it with this month's edition.

Parked Up

Phenomenal July issue focused on the Metroparks system, Cleveland's most underutilized asset. Living in Lakewood and using the Rocky River Reservation for the past 25 years, I found the issue quite valuable and packed with events and places that I wasn't even aware existed.

Thank you!
