It may only be 600 square feet, but the Grocery is like setting foot into a tricked-out farmers market. Owner Rachel Kingsbury, who opened her Ohio City store in January, noticed that the neighborhood needed a place that specialized in quality local food and products. "People see the harsh reality of what our food industry has become," she says. "They want to know where they can get trust-worthy food." Shoppers can stock up on items from more than 40 local producers, including Cleveland Bagel Co., Stone Oven bakery, Snowville Creamery, Bearded Buch Kombucha and Saucisson Artisan Cured Meat and Sausage. It's a foodie paradise, especially when you add in the bushels of carrots, turnips, beets and other produce she purchases from the Northern Ohio Food Terminal and local farms. "A lot of people are really happy they can pop in to get the thing they need for dinner that night," says Kingsbury. 3815 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, 216-543-6388, thegroceryohc.com
