Caffeine Buzz

Gypsy Beans & Baking Co. owner Nicole Gillota has been brewing up more than locally roasted coffee beans with the opening of her second coffeehouse Nov. 1, inside the Beck Center for the Arts. The new spot will carry its original line of pastries while focusing heavily on high-end desserts. Gillota decided to open a Lakewood location after getting several requests from West Side coffee lovers, plus she says "we love being part of the theater community."

Zack Goes Mobile

People called, so now chef Zack Bruell is answering with a catering business that'll offer dishes ranging from Chinato's pasta courses to Parallax's sushi. "I think it's specifically what people want," says Shannon Bizga, general manager of Zack Bruell Events. "They want to experience every one of Zack's restaurants." The one-stop shop also offers help with flower arrangements and tables. "[It's meant] to make it easier on everyone," Bizga adds.
