Rating the Suburbs 2014: Senior Moments

May. 16, 2014 | 4:00 AM

We're all getting older. With many of us happy in the suburbs, more senior living communities are popping up so we can stay in the towns we love. We take a look at three spots that are on the way.

Danbury Woods of Broadview Heights

With few senior options available in Broadview Heights, construction will begin soon on this 101-apartment facility, which will offer a mix of assisted and independent living as well as memory care. It will also have an on-site theater, pub, fitness center, library and hair salon.

Windsor Heights

Opening this fall, the secure, 66-bed Beachwood facility is geared toward seniors affected by Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Run by JEA Senior Living, its program is geared toward adding structure and meaning.

The Woods on French Creek

Residents at this 65-suite skilled nursing rehabilitation center can enjoy walking trails around Avon's French Creek. Plus, a menu of dining choices each day rather than one-meal-fits-all make this location feel much more like home.
