Ride Into the Past at Memphis Kiddie Park

The classic park gets an update with renovations and the new Turtle Chase ride.

Even our best childhood memories fade over time — and Memphis Kiddie Park, which has created so many of those great summer moments over the last 66 years, is not different. “I realized it was time to bring things up to new conditions,” says president and owner Russell Wintner. So the Brooklyn mainstay has received a makeover with repainted horses for the classic merry-go-round and fresh paint on all the rides. In addition, a Turtle Chase ride, where kids sit and spin in giant turtle shells, has replaced the traditional handcars. Still the ‘60s vibe so many visitors love remains. “It’s something we all shared,” Wintner says. 10340 Memphis Ave., Brooklyn, 216-941-5995, memphiskiddiepark.com
