Mike McCartney’s recent swing through town to open his photography exhibit, Mike McCartney’s Liverpool Life: Sixties Black & Whites (on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum through Aug. 21) also allowed him to share a tasty family recipe: the Macarita. The juiced-up margarita — enjoyed by the likes of McCartney’s Beatle brother, Paul, and fashion-designer niece, Stella — was served at a private reception for the 64-year-old photographer at Pickwick & Frolic. Here’s the mix in case you want to make one at home: fresh-squeezed orange juice shaken with fresh lime juice, Triple Sec, Cointreau and Cuervo Gold tequila and served in a glass rimmed with sea salt. Not in the mood to play bartender? Pickwick & Frolic general manager Toby Heintzelman says the refreshing $9.50 drink will be served at Pickwick’s martini bar through the summer. “People enjoy them,” he says. “We’ve sold quite a few.”
