Aside from the theme to “The Drew Carey Show” and wrestler “The Miz,” Parma doesn’t get a lot of national attention. But in mid-November, a ghostly image captured on a gas station security camera put the suburb on CNN. Owner Amed Abuzahrieh says thousands of people flocked to his Marathon gas station, located at Pleasant Valley and State roads, to check out the videotape that shows a ghostly blue light darting between the gas pumps. When we stopped by a month after the story broke, he told us the tape still sparks conversation with customers, even though no one has yet figured out what the camera captured. Theories range from a blue grocery bag blowing in the wind to bugs. Some skeptics have told Abuzahrieh the blue glow rules out a paranormal visitor, but he’s not so sure. “It could be a white ghost in the blue light,” he says. “Honestly, I think it’s a message of some kind.”
