This year marks 125 years of Cleveland baseball, and Progressive Field is set to unveil some updates and changes in time for the April 3 home opener game against the Chicago Cubs.
“We take a lot of pride in how we entertain on the field, along with the role we play as a civic leader going back to 1901,” says Curtis Danburg, vice president of communications and community impact for the Guardians.
Progressive Field is now fully renovated, after a three-phase, $200 million renovation project in the 32-year-old ballpark. Seating renovations were completed in the offseason, with new blue seats replacing the stadium’s original green seats.
Expect new bites this year, too. A “marketplace concept” joins the stadium’s food and beverage options this season. New partnerships with local food vendors like Hangry Brands’ Tremont hot spot Steak are set to hit the stadium. The Guardians have collaborated with Delaware North, a hospitality and food management company, to select new food and beverage concepts beyond typical peanuts and hot dogs.
A variety of giveaways are also planned for the 2026 baseball season, including a Kyle Manzardo “The Manzo-lorian” Bobblehead for the first 15,000 fans during a Star Wars-themed night on May 9.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Guardians’ World Series appearance, the 2016 team will visit the field on May 15 and free shirts will be given away to 10,000 fans. A Rajai Davis 2016 Game 7 Bobblehead will be available on May 16 to 15,000 fans.
Other giveaways will continue throughout the season, including an Austin Hedges jersey (May 30), Gavin Williams Bobblehead (June 13), Tanner Bibee City Connect Jersey (June 27), Jose Ramirez Camp Shirt (July 18), Cade Smith Bobblehead (Aug. 1), and the Bob Feller 1936 Jersey (Aug. 29).
Tickets to all upcoming Guardians games are now sold exclusively online as Progressive Field’s box office is no longer in service. Find more details at the team’s website.
