When Main Street Cupcakes first opened in Hudson eight years ago — a five-minute drive from my childhood home — it was the icing on my sweet tooth obsession. Once I moved to the West Side, the Rocky River location, with its bakery case of fluffy cupcakes with swirls of sugary frosting, was like a little piece of home. In December, Main Street Cupcakes closed that outpost after five years. Though there's talk of opening a downtown storefront (Do it!) and its Hudson and Chagrin Falls spots are thriving, I will miss having the comforts of confections nearby.
