You can be adventurous at Koko Bakery (sample a bright purple pastry filled with duck egg) or you can play it safe (do try the cheesecake). Either way, you will be overwhelmed and delighted inside this bright Payne Avenue storefront. Our favorite was the vegetable salad bun, a warm, flaky pastry filled with what we can best describe as the innards of a pot pie. In addition to its huge selection of sweet and savory pies, the place is also known for its teas and exotic fruit smoothies. 3710 Payne Ave., Cleveland
