Consider it no-excuses performing arts — tickets to dozens of PlayhouseSquare productions for the cost of a few of your half-caf double lattés. They call it Smart Seats, and PlayhouseSquare’s Steve Citerin says these $10 upper-balcony seats have introduced new patrons to the performing arts. “Your cost for taking a chance [on something new] is less, and in most instances you’ll be rewarded for taking that chance,” he says. You may not find a Smart Seat for the most in-demand productions, but check PlayhouseSquare’s Web site for plenty of cheap-culture choices, from theater and dance to concerts and comedy.
