Wade Ovalhas become the place to be Wednesday nights for free concerts and great ethnic food. For the past two summers, University Circle Inc. president Chris Ronayne has looked out at the crowds and noticed lots of families with kids running around barefoot on the Oval’s beautiful green grass — green because it was carefully groomed with water and chemical fertilizer. He made a few calls, and now the grass is maintained using all-natural fertilizers and is not treated with chemicals in the winter, except in dire circumstances. So on Wade Oval Wednesdays (or any other day, really) it’s one place in town where you don’t have to worry about kicking off your shoes. universitycircle.org
