The Hot Dog Diner in Parma is Relocating

After a final week in its current location, the diner will relocate a half mile down the street.

It’s been a roller-coaster ride over at one of Northeast Ohio’s favorite wiener destinations.

In 2023, fans learned that the Hot Dog Diner in Parma was closing its doors after 20 years when founders Dave and Natalie Teare announced their retirement. But at the 11th hour it was revealed that a family member was stepping in to carry the torch; the Hot Dog Diner was staying open. But two years later, those operators announced the sudden closure of the beloved burger and dog restaurant, while at the same time alluding to a new life in a different location just around the bend.

But lo and behold, the glizzy hotspot reopened just a few months later in the same Parma spot, now under the leadership of Bob Berry. And that’s where the Hot Dog Diner has been since last summer.

This week, Berry announced that he was winding down operations at 5494 Pearl Rd. at the end of this week; he has secured a new, smaller location a half mile down the street at 5687 Pearl Rd.

The restaurant is expected to open sometime in October.

Dave and Natalie Teare opened the original Hot Dog Diner in 2005. It was located on Brookpark Road but later relocated to the former Taco Bell building at 5494 Pearl Road.
