This Must-Have Bobblehead Honors An Akron RubberDucks Usher

Jack Kilway worked at Canal Park for 20 years before retiring last season.

We can’t stop nodding our heads in anticipation of this Akron RubberDucks April 22 home game. And its not because the Cleveland Indians minor league affiliate is playing the Altoona Curve. We can’t wait to see former Canal Park usher Jack Kilway — or at least his bobblehead, which the team is giving away to the first 1,000 fans. The collectible is dressed in the khaki pants Kilway wore to the ballpark during his 20-year tenure and a RubberDucks jersey. (The team gifted the real Kilway with a jersey to honor his retirement last season.) His history as a familiar face will make this bobblehead a hot ticket. “A lot of our fans have a huge collection [of bobbleheads],” says Christina Urycki, the team’s baseball promotions manager. “There’s a certain need to have each one.” 300 S.
