Tinder Moments: Dyllan Kimbrell

Jan. 20, 2015 | 5:00 AM

Dyllan Kimbrell, 23

Restaurant server

How he caught our eye: Kimbrell's interests in music, travel and science fiction are as diverse as his sense of style, which ranges from skater boy to classic GQ.

Hidden talent: I am a good artist — drawing, painting and writing.

Biggest fear: Growing old and having regrets.

My bad habit: Trying to make everyone happy. It doesn't always turn out well for me.

My guilty pleasure: Fashion and going shopping.

You'd never guess: My mind is filled with thoughts about what's out there, the unknown, both spiritually and physically. I'm very introspective.

I can't live without: Music and video games like Final Fantasy and role-playing games in general.

My hero: My mother. I've seen what she's gone through and how she's worked hard. She was a stay-at-home mom but works now. It's seeing how much she cares. She's an inspiration.

On my bucket list: I want to travel to Japan. The culture is so interesting and so different from American culture. It's a beautiful place.

Biggest accomplishment: Being able to find myself. People spend their whole lives trying to find themselves, and I know who I am.

When I'm not working: I'm usually around the house and listening to music. Or I go out with friends and have fun.

Find me here on a Saturday night: Out to dinner with friends or at home playing video games.

If I had one wish: I would wish for more wishes because there are so many possibilities.

Once-in-a-lifetime moment: I haven't had any true moments like this, although I hope to one day be able to say I made it to some degree of notoriety, and hope to find my soul mate, which would both become my answer for this question.

If I won the Mega Millions, I'd spend it on: I'd send money to family to help them meet their needs, then I would buy a new house and car. And I'd take care of my friends too.

My No. 1 dating rule: I don't really have any rules.

Deal-breakers: No sense of humor.

The perfect date: Going to dinner and having fun, then hanging out afterward and talking for hours. I like feeling that connection with someone.

I'm a sucker for: A guy who shows his interest. Someone who can hold a conversation.

Most romantic thing you've ever done: I got poster board and decorated it for Valentine's Day and wrote a letter on the back of it. Then I made dinner. There were candles and roses.

What I look for in a significant other: Physically, I look for someone my height or shorter, and I like brown hair and mixed or white guys. Personality, I like a sense of humor, someone who thinks outside of the box like I do and who is similar to me spiritually and is educated.

I always, sometimes or never make the first move: Sometimes, it's as simple as grabbing their hand and going in for a kiss. All about the timing being right, and it's based on instinct.

Would you like to be famous?: I would love to be famous. I love singing, but I'm shy about it. But if I were famous, it would be for modeling or acting.

Do you rehearse what you're going to say before making a phone call? Yes, I do. Sometimes, it helps to know what to say or how I might be coming across before I make a phone call. For a date, I wouldn't rehearse as much before calling.

Last time I sang to myself: I sang to myself in my car a couple nights ago. Last time I sang to someone else: I don't sing in front of other people much, but I did send a Snapchat video to a few friends where I'm singing.

If I could gain one quality or ability, it would be: Teleportation. It would be incredibly simple to be anywhere at any time.

I wish I had someone with whom I could share ... : My life, all my thoughts, my heart and soul. Maybe it's cheesy but it's the truth.

Celebrity dream date: Justin Bieber

Celebrity look-alike: I've heard Chace Crawford, Patty Walters, and even a few say Justin Bieber.

Dogs or cats: Dogs. I have two cats that are cute and cuddly, but dogs can be trained and cats just do their own thing.

Beach or mountains: Beach. I like the water and going swimming.

Signature dish: Poppy-seed chicken. It has sour cream, chicken, crushed Ritz Crackers and poppy seeds and is delicious.

How I stay healthy: I'm physically fit but not as healthy as I should be right now. I plan to exercise more in 2015 and have a better diet and just stay more active.

My favorite ... book: I love fantasy. The Eragon series by Christopher Paolini about a boy who discovers he's a Dragon Rider. ... TV show: Breaking Bad. ... movie: Interstellar. It's amazing. It changed my perspective on life. ... music: I like RandB, electronic and some pop music. ... restaurant: The Cheesecake Factory. ... app: Spotify. I use it at home and in the car. It's my favorite app for music.

What I'm reading: At the moment, I am not reading anything.

IPod embarrassment: Nothing.

I'm so over: Drama. There are people who bring drama into work with them or make drama happen.

Dream job: I would love to be a model or an actor or a video game developer.

Dream vacation: Cruise to the Caribbean.

My take on Cleveland's single scene: The gay scene is different from the straight scene, and it seems like the guys aren't looking for something long-term like I am.

Are you on Tinder?: No.

Best thing about being single: Peace to do what I want and just relax and make my own decisions without having to consult another person.

Worst thing about being single: Finding something I would love to share with someone else and not having anyone to share it with. Loneliness.

Best date I've been on: We went to a park in Pittsburgh and walked and talked. It overlooked the city, and we listened to music. It was magical.

Worst date I've been on: Nothing off the top of my head.

Do you hope to settle down in the next five years?: Yes, I would love to have settled down within the next one to two years actually.
