Instead of just swigging a cup of joe, wake up your mind with an innovative talk from Creative Mornings. On the third Friday of every month, the Cleveland chapter of this international organization hosts a free talk by a professional at 8:30 a.m. Since launching in January, the event has diverse speakers on topical themes: Trentina food forager Jeremy Umansky's on climate, and poet and artist R.A. Washington on revolution. The rotating venues, from Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland to Merwin's Wharf, make each talk feel fresh. Plus, a free breakfast is motivation for an earlier wake-up call. And unlike other talks that can be drawn out, Creative Mornings are structured to be bite-sized 20-minute presentations followed by QandAs, so you'll head to work having added to your innovation tool belt. "I'm generally looking for people who are already at a point of success in their career," says Cleveland chapter founder Thomas Fox. "We want you to come and learn something new." creativemornings.com/cities/cle
