Childhood memories are what inspired 2nd & High Social House owner Matt Wyrick to create an adult version of the sno-cone ($6). “I remember asking my mom for a quarter and a dime,” he says. “Then, I’d run to the cart and get my cone.” The new downtown bar has been melting our hearts with its liquor-infused frozen treat made using a professional sno-cone machine. Served with your choice of vodka, tequila, bourbon or other spirits, each chilly concoction is splashed with either a house-made cherry, raspberry, blueberry or blackberry reduction. The frothy masterpiece is complete with a tiny umbrella and sprig of mint grown in the bar’s back garden — putting a fancy spin on the summertime classic. “Sno-cones act as a bit of a nostalgia,” says Wyrick. “We’re trying to lighten things up in an adult atmosphere and take the heat off of the day-to-day rigmarole.” 2123 E.
