Rock ‘n’ roll go together like denim jackets and pins. One is music for the ears, the other for the eyes. That’s why we’re so amped over the partnership between Lost Lust Supply co-owners Charlie Wagers and Brian Stowell. A band photographer, Stowell hired Akron graphic designer Wagers to design merchandise for Americana crooner Josh Ritter. Soon after, the two started trading pin designs. Their first idea was totally rock ‘n’ roll — a surfing grim reaper ($8). Although Stowell lives in Portland, Oregon, the two have been working together ever since, designing camper-trailer pins that evince wanderlust ($8) and Fox’s Dream ($8), a cozy, sleepy fox inspired by a song from the band MeWithoutYou. They’ve even started expanding the partnership by collaborating with other pin artists such as Mochichito on items including the Peararrium ($8) — like a terrarium but with pears. “Brian and I both work with bands, and a lot of times, we’ll have pretty good ideas. You get a lot of cooks in the kitchen, things don’t work out, and you end up tossing a lot of good ideas by the wayside,” says Wagers. “This gave us a way to make things that we think look good and not have to worry about what someone else thinks.” lostlustsupply.com
