Q: What are the benefits of a religious-based education today?
A: “Religious-based education is one part of a larger subset of the values-based education,” says Jerry Isaak-Shapiro, head of school at Joseph & Florence Mandel Jewish Day School. “What we try to do is to go beyond the traditional and conventional teaching and learning that’s always taking place in schools to think about why it’s important for the individual and for the community.
