Cribbs In The CLE Displays The Couple's Dynamic Relationship
Josh and Maria Cribbs' new morning talk show premiers Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. on Cleveland 19.
“I’m a very passionate person in what I believe in,” says Maria, who met the former Cleveland Browns fan favorite when they were both students at Kent State University. “And I don’t let anyone tell me otherwise. So when sometimes we have a disagreement, it can just seem a little extra.”
“She’s more emotional, as opposed to —,” Josh says, before Maria cuts in.
“Josh, you are the most emotional person in our house!” she exclaims.
Starting Sept. 9, Clevelanders are going to wake up to a taste of this back-and-forth on Cribbs in the CLE: Josh and Maria Live. The 19 News morning talk show set to run from 9-9:30 a.m. features the couple discussing (and disagreeing over) pop culture and lighthearted trending news.
They’ll also get out together for on-air segments, where they’ll try fun stuff such as a bungee fit class or interviews with local business owners, which Josh is looking forward to.
“But it’s not going to be like ‘Hey, come here and buy this,’ ” he promises. “I want to get to know each person. That’s the important thing — the people.”
While Josh got a hefty dose of media training thanks to his years in the NFL, where players, especially higher profile ones, do interview after interview, he expects his experiences over the years appearing on some of 19 News’ Browns analysis shows to help him prepare for Cribbs in the CLE.
But for Maria, who studied journalism, the show fulfills her goal of becoming a newscaster. While she has no qualms about how things turned out with Josh’s pro career, she’s thrilled to have this opportunity.
"It was just crazy how you kind of sit back and let life play out — and look,” she says, smiling.
The more time you spend watching Josh and Maria interact, the more you see their sometimes fiery banter for what it really is: a loving, dynamic and real relationship that promises to make compelling TV.
“This is just who we are,” Maria says. “We’re not gonna be putting on for TV.”
