"Now that the games are in, I'm getting really excited," says Dan Deagan.
At 4 p.m. on Friday, April 18, Deagan and partner Andrea Tsiros will switch on the games and open the doors at The Arcade on Detroit (14810 Detroit Ave.) in Lakewood. The space was, for 13 years, home to Deagan's Kitchen and Bar, which closed in 2023. It was briefly the site of Solstice, as well.

Much of the fixtures, tables, chairs and booths have been removed to make way for the games, an assortment of classic and modern arcade games, pinball machines, Skee-Ball, billiards and tabletop games like shuffleboard and foosball. Expect leagues to form around various games. Most games cost a quarter to play, but others climb to a dollar. A newly installed change machine will convert bills to coin.
To drink, there will be two dozen local and regional craft beers on tap, including some nitro-fueled pours, ciders and a THC drink. Also on tap will be a selection of white, rose and red wines. Guests can also expect some fun themed cocktails and boozy milkshakes.

To eat, there will be a very approachable menu of bar snacks that includes giant pretzels, pizza, chicken tenders and corn dogs.
"Nobody is going to be coming here for dinner," says Deagan. "They will
be coming here to play games."
The Arcade is adults-only every day except for between the hours of noon and 5 p.m. on weekends.
