Last season, Mentor crushed Medina 49-14 in the Division I Regional Final. If the Bees, led by Penn State quarterback commit Drew Allar, want a better ending this season, this feels like a must-win.
Oct. 15: Benedictine vs. Archbishop Hoban at Dowed Field in Akron
Division III power Benedictine went 1-1 against Hoban last year with the loss being a 37-0 rout in the Regional Semifinals. With both teams returning several key players, this could be first of two matchups once again.
Oct. 16: Cincinnati St. Xavier vs. St. Ignatius at Byers Field in Parma
Xavier is the defending Division I State Champions and beat Ignatius 62-37 last year. Coming off a 6-4 season, this match-up-- just two weeks after Ignatius' rivalry game against St. Edward-- could define the Wildcats' season.
