Our favorite beach reading material gives new meaning to the dog days of summer. CLE Dog Magazine, the monthly publication pup of writer Karen Uthe-Semancik and designer Mark Brabant, offers up tail-wagging canine coverage from dog training advice columns to pooch-friendly product reviews and features on CLE celebs (and their dogs, obvi) such as WKYC’s Monica Robins, pet photog Greg Murray and Market Garden Brewery owner Sam McNulty. Uthe-Semancik and Brabant aren’t biting off more than they can chew quite yet — right now they print 10,000 copies to cover most of Cuyahoga and Lorain counties — but hope to expand to Summit, Lake and Geauga. We’re just hoping our cute Fido can fetch one of the spots on the monthly Dogs of the CLE page, where proud pup owners submit photos of their dogs. “People have social media accounts set up for their dogs,” Uthe-Semancik laughs. “They will look at the magazine to see if their dogs made it. Everybody thinks their dog is the best dog ever — and they’re right.” cledog.net
