There’s nothing quite as loved or familiar as that go-to bag you carry everywhere — the one that has anything you could possibly need inside of it (and then some). But if you’re in the hunt for a new tote, Ellie Jane Bags’ Torrey backpack ($210) fits the bill.
Named after the Grays and Torreys peaks in Colorado, this backpack has a rugged look making it ideal for an easy hike, but it also can work for getting drinks out on the town or running errands.
“You can take this bag out on an adventure for the day,” says owner Sarah Larson, “but then also use it as your everyday carry.”
Complete with a water-resistant waxed canvas exterior and leather accents, the bag is sturdy while also stylish. But the main sell is the organization. An interior zipper pocket, an exterior pocket and two smaller slip pockets on the inside make storing items a breeze.
Larson, who makes every bag in her home studio, says a single Torrey backpack can take three to four hours to create with her completing about 10 to 12 a week.
“It’s not a lot of work when you enjoy it,” she says. “I love everything to be practical, functional and purposeful.” elliejanehandmade.com
