Shop Local: Babycakes Children's Boutique Makes It Easy To Spoil Your Little Ones
The Rocky River boutique is stocked with comfy and safe gifts, clothes and accessories for children and infants.
After opening her first shop, Lovely Paperie and Gifts, in Rocky River in 2014, customers kept flocking to the baby items in stock. “There was nowhere near that people could find high-quality baby gifts, something that was made of the right materials and softest fabric, something that you’d want to put your child in,” Fortney Horne says. So she opened Babycakes in the same spot in 2017 as a specialty store selling beautiful, memorable clothing, swaddles, blankets, toys and books and relocated Lovely down the street.
“People are coming in and taking the time to touch, feel and learn about the products they’re buying,” she says. “They want something that will be passed down from generation to generation.”
