2008 Rating the Suburbs - #5 Twinsburg

This suburb of more than 17,000 manages to keep its small town feel while bringing in new business. University Hospitals opened a 47,000-square-foot medical office earlier this year while the Cleveland Clinic will build a 170,000-square-foot medical office right across I-480. And the city could see its biggest development so far — the $100 million fashion-only Twinsburg Fashion Place. While plans are still up in the air, the proposed 800,000-square-foot,

two-story shopping center would complement nearby Hudson’s First and Main and the proposed lifestyle center in Solon. A large downtown square full of trees and benches where residents can hear bands play on any given weekend along with its famous Twins Day Festival are just some of the events that makes Twinsburg a close-knit community. Add to that the fourth-lowest property taxes, good schools, plentiful parks and affordable homes and you’ve got a community that can balance out its surge in growth with stability.
