Q: What are the benefits of attending a smaller university?

A: “An advantage of attending a small college comes down to the personalized attention that a student can receive right from the get-go,” says Whitney Zunic, director of recruitment at Thiel College. “At a smaller school, they have a greater opportunity for doing a holistic review of a student’s application because they aren’t dealing with as many applications as larger schools. Having the students in smaller classes gives them the opportunity to participate more, to have additional help if they need it and have their professor know who they are if they do need to schedule help before or after class. And really it just gives them the opportunity, in some cases, to have more of a conversation than being lectured at, because everyone can share their thoughts and opinions in a small classroom."
