Bench Warmer

Jun. 19, 2015 | 4:00 AM

As a multiyear subscriber of Cleveland Magazine and lifelong Clevelander, I came home from a long shift at the Cleveland Clinic and looked forward to my June issue of the magazine. In this instance, I am compelled to express my extreme disappointment in your "excerpt" on Cleveland Bench ("Bench Marks," June 2015). Having a public art piece that addresses the long-standing West-East mindset of Cleveland is overdue. The magazine missed yet another real opportunity here to feature something fresh and groundbreaking. Readers don't want to know the bios of staged, random people that you found on the street. We want to connect with the actual people behind the project, understand the process of it coming to fruition, see what the bench looks like (photos don't reveal much) and identify where the bench is specifically located.
