Best Lunch Spot: Burntwood Tavern
For more than 16 years, Burntwood Tavern has built its reputation by becoming part of the tight-knit communities it serves. Strategically located near neighborhoods and schools, the restaurant is designed to feel both convenient and familiar. It is a place where a quick lunch fits easily into a busy workday, while also offering a welcoming setting for relaxed dinners or special occasions.
“We change our menu twice a year so we have a great array of seasonal varieties,” says Dominic Kail, regional director of operations for the Monven Group, which owns and operates Burntwood Tavern. “We have fresh salads, phenomenal burgers that we are known for, plus tuna nachos, prime rib sliders and great tacos. You could eat at Burntwood Monday through Friday and get something different every time.”
When it comes to tacos, Kail points to the Blackened Shrimp Tacos as his top pick. Priced at $14 for three generously sized tacos, the dish delivers a bright, balanced combination of flavor and texture.
Blackened Shrimp Tacos:
Jumbo shrimp. Three shrimp coated in-house blackening seasoning and seared on a flat top for a smoky, flavorful bite.
Pickled slaw. Fresh cabbage tossed in house-made buttermilk dressing adds tang and crunch.
Queso fresco. A mild, creamy cheese that complements without overpowering.
Crispy jalapenos. Lightly breaded and fried for crunch and a subtle, spicy kick.
Sriracha aioli. House made for a smooth, slightly spicy finish.
Pico de gallo. Fresh tomato salsa made daily is the perfect traditional taco topping.
