Cleveland Carols

by Kelly Petryszyn | Nov. 17, 2014 | 5:00 AM

Your Christmas wish has been granted: Local indie acts have crafted even more original seasonal tunes so you can give Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" the holidays off.

Modern Electric

"Northcoast Christmas"

Add this jingly tune to your rotation now. From a dad praying for the Browns to a choir singing "Raise your beer, it's a Christmas on the North Coast," this indie-rock band couldn't define a Cleveland holiday any better.

See Them:  9 p.m., Dec. 23, Beachland Ballroom

Attack Cat

"Starlight"

The power-pop duo tones down for this bright song that highlights Rachel Hoskins' angelic vocals and a simple, heartfelt chorus that will stay in your head after the tree is down.

Ashley Brooke Toussant and Alan Madej

"Christmas Memory"

This song is such a pure, tender expression of holiday nostalgia. For this wistful ballad, singer-songwriter Ashley Brooke Toussant's impossibly gentle voice is paired with Alan Madej's dreamy vocals.

See Toussant:  7 p.m., Dec. 12., G.A.R. Hall
