An Oven-free Thanksgiving

Contrary to what your mother might have you believe, it is not sacrilege to spend Thanksgiving away from home. Let someone else get up at 5 a.m. and stuff the turkey by taking advantage of the Thanksgiving packages offered at the Ohio state park resorts. At Burr Oak in southeast Ohio, $185 covers two nights' lodging for two people, a Thanksgiving buffet and a $10 gift certificate at the souvenir shop. At Hueston Woods in southwest Ohio, $280 buys a room for two for two nights, a Thanksgiving dinner and a $15 gift certificate at the souvenir shop. Lastly, Salt Fork in eastern Ohio is offering a $429 package that includes three nights' lodging for two, a Thanksgiving buffet and two breakfasts. The best part? No cleanup. Instead, burn off your bird by taking a hike through the park. For more info, visit www.ohiodnr.com or call 1-800-AT-A-PARK.
