And then there was "Light!" ... until July 29. The newest exhibit in Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Art explores how art, science and everyday life changed during the Industrial Age as new ways of using artificial and natural light were harnessed. More than 300 works by major painters, including Goya, Degas and Monet, complement the inventions of such luminaries as Newton, Edison and Westinghouse. Hands-on displays encourage visitors to peek through an early telescope, test theories of vision and engage in a little primitive photography. On June 30, performance artist Seth Riskin will present "Light Dance," which pairs light with movement. The museum is located at 4400 Forbes Ave. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for students. Call (412) 622-3131.
Antique motorcars in Michigan
What do the Hudson, Packard, Rambler, Edsel and Tucker have in common? Each is either an automaker that has gone out of business or a model that is no longer produced by its parent company. On June 3, the city of Ypsilanti, Mich., will pay homage to these and other automobiles in the Fifth-Annual Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show. This year's event which spotlights the 1919 McIntyre, 1937 Cord, 1951 Kaiser and 1960 DeSoto will be held at Riverside Park, located at the corner of Huron and Cross streets. Admission to the show, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is $3. Call (734) 482-5000.
