Life Style: Paper Magic

GILDED wallpaper can liven up any room. So wrap those drab white walls (and beyond) in a little glamour. "It's almost like artwork on the wall," says Gary Levine, president of U.S. Wallcovering in in North Olmsted. Here are three rolls we love and tips on how to use them.

Textured Floral Sidewall by Brewster Home Fashions, $25.50 per roll
You could frame this paper as stand-alone art or use it to cover a single wall to create an accent for the entire room. "If the room has a very soft gold or a very soft beige, it is just so amazingly dramatic," says Levine. "Use a dramatic pattern that would be too powerful for the full room."
Scribble by York Wallcoverings, $33.99 per roll
Consider using this on small surfaces such as an old living room coffee table underneath a protective glass top for a customized look. "You've got so many patterns from which to choose," he says. "If you want to change, it you can put it on there without adhering it."
Mystic Vine by Stacy Garcia, $34.99 per roll
Spruce up a bathroom with this design that gives off a metallic sheen when light hits it. "This pattern needs a larger wall space to stand out," says Levine. "You're not spending hours and hours [in the bathroom], and you can handle the power for a short period of time."
