If you think “Jingle Bells” has lost its charm, opt for CityMusic Cleveland’s Not-Your-Usual Holiday Concert to ring in the season with tunes that aren’t ruling radio airwaves and mall loudspeakers. The chamber orchestra will tackle six classical pieces — such as Gioacchino Rossini’s Overture to Cinderella — that are “exotic little gems providing the perfect reason to celebrate,” says music director James Gaffigan. They’ll add festive notes to winter nights, even if there’s no mention of a one-horse open sleigh.
