A lot of people like Swenson’s, because they grew up going there. So many people like burgers, fries and milkshakes. It’s different from going to McDonald’s — which is kind of boring.

My brother and his friends usually go a lot. One day the two of us were going to get food, and I’d never had the Galley Boy before. I saw that they were hiring and applied. More than a month ago I started in the kitchen, so I usually make milkshakes. I’m going to Kent State University next year and really need to save up for a car. It’s good to set goals so you have something to look forward to.

My brother was telling me the other day I should study plants and animals at college. I do like nature a lot, but I just keep changing my mind. I don’t know what I’m actually going to study.

I’m pretty busy because I dance on a competition team too — mostly acrobatics and contortion. Compared to contemporary or lyrical, which are about telling a story, doing acro is focusing on tricks and technique. Everything takes time and you have to stretch a lot. But when you do get it, it feels really accomplishing.

I like working here because we’re like a team. I’ve learned how to work better with other people because we’re all helping to get the orders out. It’s really fun. Everyone is so nice. Now that I work here, I see why people like going, because the service is so good and we all work well together.
