Rent

Jan. 1, 1900 | 5:00 AM

"No day but today" — the slogan for Pulitzer Prize- and Tony award-winning "Rent" — may have been gone for two years, but could it be forgotten?

After two nearly sold out runs in 1998 and 1999 at Playhouse Square, "Rent" returns to Cleveland for those who missed it the first time or those who want to see it again.

The story, begun at Christmas in New York, traces a year in the lives of several lower east siders as they attempt to find direction, pleasure and money. Tragedy and pain, humor and elation aren't far in tow.

"Rent" is a Jonathan Larson musical.
