The storefront at 8 E. Washington St. blends well into Chagrin Falls’ historic downtown, but beyond the white exterior is a shop flooded with pink, all-frills gifts and lots of jeans.

It’s all by design, as Sanity owner Isabel Pritchett has spent the last 17 years curating a one-stop shop for everything fashionable. Her inventory moves with the seasons, always ensuring that clients can find a piece that is both in style and timeless.

“We try to bring in the newest trends,” Pritchett says. “Each season brings a new inspiration and new ways to update pieces in your closet that you already have.”

“One of my favorite trends of the season is the oversized jacket look with something fitted,” Pritchett adds, gesturing to a mannequin dressed with a brown leather bomber jacket over a black lace corset top. “I think that high-low look is so fun.”

Before Pritchett opened Sanity in 2008, she was already well-acquainted with the retail industry and its rewarding undertones.

“It always made me feel good dressing people,” Pritchett says. “The look on their face immediately changed when they loved what they’re wearing. I just knew that was something I always wanted to do.”

Now, she leads her own team of stylists dedicated to helping folks find their confidence in a selection of clothing all her own, looking their best in things she loves just as much.

“We love getting our customers out of their comfort zone,” she says. “You just never know how you’re gonna like it until you try it.”

Pritchett prides herself in a shop that’s fun and fitted for everyone, noting that their inventory can cater to children and older adults alike. This has turned Sanity into a destination for both those casually touring Chagrin Falls and those in need of a last-minute outfit.

Beyond a selection of sellers outside of Ohio, Sanity also creates space for local makers, with displays dedicated to small businesses like Gena Page Designs and Rad Olive Clothing Company.

And Pritchett has found even more ways to give back to her community, making Sanity a dedicated dropoff center for Support the Girls, an organization that provides gently used bras, new underwear and feminine hygiene products to women who don’t have access to these items.

“It stays in Cleveland,” Pritchett emphasizes. “Customers donate bags and bags of these items, and they make their way to local shelters where women and girls can use the help.”
