Sing Off

With National Karaoke Week April 19-25, we sing the praises of our favorite spots.

Dunlap's Country Corner

Why we love it: Divey with loyal regulars and midnight line dancing during Thursday and Friday karaoke. "It's kind of like Cheers," says DJ Jozee. In the mix: It's mostly country here. 3258 W. 32nd St., Cleveland, 216-513-7616

Flying Monkey Pub

Why we love it: Sunday karaoke packs the pub, and expert cocktails keep things rowdy. In the mix: You'll hear everything from Top 40 hits to '80s hair-band jams. "One guy raps every week," says owner Amy Farry. 819 Jefferson Ave., Cleveland, 216-861-6659, flyingmonkeypub.com

Park Tavern

Why we love it: Fridays from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. divas flock to karaoke. "We get really good singers," says manager Lisa Dean. In the mix: Disc jockey Bobby Baker offers a pop-heavy songbook. 12897 Royalton Road, North Royalton, 440-230-7275

Roseland Lanes

Why we love it: Loosen up with bowling and sing ditties Thursdays from 8-11 p.m. "You can come out early and still have a nice night," says disc jockey Bobby Diamond. In the mix: The songbook is updated constantly, but we like classics such as Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone." 26383 Broadway Ave., Bedford, 440-232-5444, roselandlanes.com
