Summer Weekends with the Cleveland Orchestra

The Cleveland Orchestra concludes its summer 2001 season at Blossom Music Center with two performances this weekend: Saturday Aug. 25 at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Jahja Ling will conduct Saturday's three works — Haydyn's Symphony No. 88, Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. Stephen Hough is featured on piano.

David Zinman will lead the orchestra in the season's final performance on Sunday. Barber's Essay for Orchestra No. 1, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 22 and Strauss' Ein Heldenleben are the billed pieces. Jeffrey Kahane will perform on piano.
