Christmas in November
The Downtown Cleveland Partnership and the American Legion 13th District are putting on a parade to get Cleveland in the holiday spirit. This Saturday, Nov. 24 at 9:45 a.m., the 17th Annual American Legion Christmas Parade begins its trek through the Theater District with more than 100 units participating in the parade.
The parade route follows Euclid Ave. from East 18th St. to Public Square, then turns north to Superior Ave. and follows that to West 6th St. in the Warehouse District.
For the first time in 16 years, the parade will not be televised, says Mel Baher, parade chairman for the American Legion, so locations along Euclid Ave. and at Public Square will be prime real estate. Baher recommends viewers arrive downtown by 9 a.m. to snag good spots.

Swingin' Jazz
Buddy Greco may not be the "king of swing" that title is reserved for Benny Goodman but Greco arranged music for and conducted "the king's" orchestra from 1949 to 1952, performing an experimental "bop" style that later landed him on national TV and in top nightclubs across the country.
On Nov. 23 and 24, Greco performs at two venues in Northeast Ohio with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. Nov. 23, Greco and the CJO play Tri-C's Western Campus Theater, located at 11000 W. Pleasant Valley Rd. in Parma. Nov. 24, the show is at Fairmount Temple Auditorium, located at 23737 Fairmount Blvd. in Beachwood.
Both shows begin at 8 p.m. and admission is $23 in advance, $25 at the door. For more information, visit www.clevelandjazz.org.
