Beatlemania Back Again

Cast members from the original Broadway and London productions of the musical spectacular "Beatlemania!" reprise their roles in a special one-night performance at the Palace Civic Center in Lorain on March 2 at 7:30 p.m..

"Beatlemania!" is a two-hour chronicle of perhaps the most influential musical quartet of the 20th century, capturing the Beatles' first Ed Sullivan Show appearance and charting the group's journey through Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road and Let It Be.

Scene of the Crime

The Western Reserve Historical Society hosts two exhibits for whodunit? fans. The Science of Solving Crime, which runs through May 12, is an interactive display that explores DNA profiling, fingerprinting, forensic anthropology, evidence collection and more. The exhibit also draws on several cases from the past to explain crime-solving methods.

Cleveland Crimes, on display through Oct. 6, delves into Northeast Ohio's solved and unsolved mysteries, including the infamous Torso Murders. Evidence and artifacts from that and other crimes will guide visitors through the crimes, and perhaps point to who might have been the perpetrators.

Smooth Jazz Fest

Wynton Marsalis, world renown trumpeter brings his horn and experience to E.J. Thomas Hall at the University of Akron on March 10, as part of the school's inaugural JazzFest.

Marsalis will discuss his career and musical exploits at 3 p.m. on March 10. Admission to the lecture is free. At 7:30 p.m. that same day, Marsalis and his seven-piece band will perform. Tickets to the concert are $20. Both events take place at E.J. Thomas Hall, 198 Hill St., in Akron.
