The Cleveland Cavaliers Collaborate With Found Surface for Sustainable City Edition Merch

Inspired by the bright Cavs jerseys that launched in late 2025, the trendy merchandise prioritizes organic materials and handmade goods.

Jan. 26 marked the fourth of six 2025-26 City Edition games, where the Cleveland Cavaliers sport sunny yellow and orange uniforms inspired by the Cleveland Metroparks. Upholding a collaboration built upon sustainability and natural beauty, the team launched new, remixed City Edition fan gear at the Monday night game.

The specialty collection brings in Found Surface, a clothing maker based in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood that works nationally with brands and designers to create responsibly sourced clothing with a traceable footprint. The organization also collaborated with the Cavs during their 2024-25 City Edition season.

“The Cavaliers take pride in turning local inspiration into global recognition,” says Kristyn Hivick, senior director of retail buying and merchandising. “By partnering with Cleveland brands and organizations like Found Surface, we elevate the fan experience while celebrating the creativity, stories and spirit that define our city.”

Each item began from Texas-grown organic cotton before coming to Cleveland to be completed at Found Surface’s factory. The merchandise includes minimalist, vintage-inspired designs that reimagine the City Edition color scheme in a warmer, more simplistic fashion. A knit sweater boasts a player’s silhouette, while a sun and basketball hoop icon on an off-white hoodie speak to the Cleveland Metroparks and Cavs’ collaboration in just a few symbols. A matching T-shirt and tote bag display a dreamy, artistic rendition of the Cleveland skyline at sunset — true to the 2025-26 City Edition uniform’s emphasis on Cleveland’s natural landscape.

“For this collection, we’ve gone as far as making our own yarns using USDA-certified organic cotton grown right here in the USA,” says Aidan Meany, CEO and founder of Found Surface. “Every piece involves limited-edition City Edition colors and is designed, knit, cut and sewn in Cleveland. This provides a level of quality and sustainability that is rare in fashion today, ensuring we support local labor while drastically reducing waste.”

All excess materials from creating the clothing were donated to local composter Rust Belt Riders, and any dye-process water was recycled. The holistic commitment to sustainability makes this fully domestically traceable merchandise collection the first of its kind from a professional sports team.

“From using organic, locally made materials in our retail shop to finding new ways to reduce waste and recycle resources, we’re proud to continue to take steps that have a real impact in our arena, community and on our planet", says Danielle Doza, the Cavaliers’ vice president of sustainability and environmental services.

“Collaborating with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Metroparks allows us to showcase what true local manufacturing looks like,” Meany adds. “We aren't just printing on standard blanks; we are in the aggressive pursuit of total vertical integration.”
