Every year, NBA teams are tasked with creating a Nike City Edition uniform that emulates a notable aspect of their hometown. Here in Cleveland, we’ve seen the Cavaliers pay homage to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Playhouse Square, the Cleveland Museum of Art and notably the Cleveland Metroparks in 2022-23. This year, a collaboration with the Cleveland Metroparks returns in a bigger and brighter fashion.
While the 2022-23 jerseys took a more neutral, grounded approach from the Great Lakes, the 2025-26 edition goes bold with a flashy orange frost and sophisticated amarillo yellow meant to emulate the warm hues that wash over Cleveland’s skyline each sunrise and sunset. In the wake of Cleveland’s picturesque autumn, the colors also represent the city’s fall foliage, best seen throughout the expansive Metroparks.
“Cleveland has always been a city that shocks the world — whether on the court or out in nature,” Chris Kaiser, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rock Entertainment Group, said in a press release. “As the longest-standing park system in Ohio, Cleveland Metroparks offers residents and visitors the very best opportunities to connect with nature from sunrise to dusk, moments that are truly unique to our region. Our shared belief and pride in being the best in the land, from the hardwood to the trail, is powerfully reflected in the design of our City Edition uniforms this season.”
The jerseys will debut at the Cavs’ home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 17 alongside a Metroparks-inspired court design. Starting with amarillo yellow on the baselines, the design fades into a soft brown by the middle of the court, an interpretation of the way the sun overlooks the land. The court also sports the Cavs’ iconic catchphrase, “Let Em Know,” at the west sideline.
The jersey’s complimentary colors will light up Rocket Arena as Cleveland approaches a gloomy, snowy winter. Both the City Edition uniforms and court will make appearances at five more games between December and March.
The City Edition collection is also making a major impact off the court, as the Cavs and partner Cleveland-Cliffs are using the collaboration as an opportunity to make a $10,000 donation to the Cleveland Metroparks Trail Fund, which helps staff and volunteers keep paths across the district’s 18 reservations beautiful, sustainable and functional.
"We are proud to build on our partnership with the Cleveland Cavaliers to celebrate the spirit of our city and make a difference both on and off the court,” Brian M. Zimmerman, CEO of Cleveland Metroparks, said in a press release “Together, we are investing in spaces and experiences that inspire people to explore and connect with nature right here in Cleveland.”
