Woollybear
The Woollybear Festival is the perfect way to say goodbye to summer. It takes its name from a caterpillar whose fur, according to folklore, can predict the severity of the winter. It’s become the largest one-day fest in Ohio, greatly thanks to host and former Fox 8 meteorologist Dick Goddard. Paying tribute to its namesake with a woollybear-themed costume contest, a footrace for kids and adults, and a parade, the festival also features appearances by Goddard and Fox 8 personalities throughout the day.
