It’s an unfortunate reality that restaurants see a slow in business through late winter, especially March when few events get Clevelanders out on the town — dingy weather doesn’t help either.
For that reason, from March 6-18, more than 30 Cleveland restaurants are once again banding together for Cleveland Restaurant Week, with each participating restaurant offering prix fixe, three course dinners ($39) — with the option to deviate up or down in price based on each establishment’s offerings.
“Perhaps now more than any other time of year, our member restaurants look for support from everyone in Northeast Ohio,” says Myra G. Orenstein, president of CATV and acting executive director of Cleveland Independents, in a press release. “March is a difficult month for restaurants. There are no holidays. Patios aren’t open. We hope that, once again, our March promotion of Cleveland Restaurant Week will help our restaurants generate additional revenue.”
Participating restaurants include some of the hottest names in local dining, from the east to the west and in-between. Here are three prix fixe menus that caught our eye.
- Edwin’s Restaurant over in Shaker Square has you covered with a main course of chicken breast with roasted potatoes, spring vegetable mix and herbed velouté. Don’t skip the dessert of either crème brulee or bread pudding.
- Make your way Downtown if you’re a sushi lover, Sora on West 10th Street boasts two courses of delicious rolls and sides ranging from Truffle Avocado Crispy Rice and Taiwanese Karaage to the restaurant’s Suki Roll and Vegetable Ramen Bowl for a second course.
- To the west, Pier W satiates your seafood craving with its offering of Maine Lobster Bisque as a first-course choice, followed by Louisiana Redfish and Rock Shrimp Etoufee or Cedar Planked Salmon. Dessert wraps the meal in a neat bow with seven sweet options ranging from chocolate chip biscotti to blueberry lemon coffee cake.
