Gov. Mike DeWine announced June 4 that many businesses such as amusement parks, zoos, casinos, museums and movie theaters can start reopening with restrictions and guidelines in place. Many of Cleveland’s top spots have been preparing for the green light from the Governor and began rolling out their plans to the public. Here’s a list of places, when they’re set to open and information on how they are handling social distancing and what to expect when you arrive.
Buckland Museum of Witchcraft and Magick (June 10)
Called one of the most unique small museums in Ohio, the Buckland Museum will resume small tours of up to 6 people with tickets reserved online. National Museum of the Great Lakes (June 10)
Timed-entry tickets are required to enter the museum. Visitors have the option of borrowing a stylus to use with touchscreen interactives, but some of the hands-on exhibits will remain closed. Space on many of the museum ships is limited, so 2 people or 1 group will be allowed entry at a time. Pro Football Hall of Fame (June 10)
Visitors will follow the one-way flow through the museum and are encouraged to wear face masks. They will be given their own stylus to use on exhibit touch screens and other contact points, such as elevator buttons. Columbus Zoo (June 15)
The zoo will begin opening for members June 12 and the general public June 15. Time slots can be reserved online, and guests are encouraged to stay in their cars until their time slot begins. Rock Hall (June 15)
Patrons can register online for a time slot to visit the museum, and interactive exhibits will remain closed. They also hope to reserve a future day for medical and emergency personnel only. 1100 Rock and Blvd., Cleveland, 216-781-7625, rockhall.com
Twinsburg Waterpark (June 15)
Members can reserve a 2.5 hour time slot for the upcoming week each Saturday at noon. The pool will close between each time slot for a deep cleaning, and the water slide and other attractions will remain closed for the season. 10075 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg, 330-425-7161, mytwinsburg.com
Holden Arboretum (June 16)
The Murch Canopy Walk, an elevated walkway 65 feet above the forest floor, and the Kalberer Emergent Tower, which offers a 12-story-high view of the forest and Lake Erie, will open to the public. Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens (June 16)
Visitors can walk in the gardens or take a self-guided tour of the manor house. Special hours for seniors and immunocompromised individuals are Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Guests are asked to maintain 6 feet of distance. 714 N. Portage Path, Akron, 330-836-5533, stanhywet.org
Akron Zoo (June 17)
Timed entry tickets will be available online, and zoo members can begin visiting on June 15. Patrons are asked to stay in their car before their time slot begins and to not enter the Welcome Center more than 10 minutes early. Beginning June 18, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. are reserved for those vulnerable to COVID-19. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo (June 17)
Patrons have been able to drive through the zoo since May 20 as part of a fundraising event, an offering that will continue until June 14. On June 17, the Zoo reopens at 75% capacity and with reservations required for all visitors. Great Lakes Science Center (June 19)
The Science Center is back with a limited opening, inviting guests to the Body Worlds Rx exhibit, showcasing the inner workings of the human body through real samples. Tickets can be purchased online and also include a general admission ticket to the full museum for a later date. Great Wolf Lodge (June 26)
The Sandusky water park and resort reopens late this month with precautions that include sanitation of its 271 rooms and frequently touched surfaces, 50% occupancy, six-feet separation between parties, markers for queues for attractions, hand sanitizer stations and more. Canton Museum of Art (June 30)
The museum plans to begin opening with limited capacity, and timed entry tickets can be reserved online for free, courtesy of the PNC Foundation. A 10 to 11 a.m. time slot will be reserved for seniors and high-risk visitors. Cleveland Museum of Art (June 30)
Beginning June 18, the museum will begin offering a limited number of free, reservation-only timed tickets for the month of July as a presale before it opens June 30. Cleveland Museum of Natural History (July 1)

Hale Farm & Village (July 9)
After a first day reserved for member's only, the Western Reserve Historical Society's outdoor museum is fully reopening. Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the first hour is also reserved for at-risk visitors, and advance tickets are required. Cedar Point (July 9 & 10)
The amusement park will reopen the weekend of July 9 and 10 to park passholders. Then beginning July 11, passholders and Cedar Point Resort guests can access Northeast Ohio’s premiere destination. Plans to allow guests who have pre-purchased tickets is in the works. All guests will be required to make a reservation to visit the park through the mobile app or the park’s website and complete a health screening declaration within the mobile app 24 hours prior to entering the park. Kings Island (July 12)
Visitors must register online for a time slot and must complete a health screening declaration 24 hours before admission. They must also wear masks and social distance throughout the park.
