Are you the one who turns up the function with your gravity-defying, impressive dance moves? Well, you might be just what the Cleveland Cavaliers Scream Team is looking for.
The Scream Team dance crew is offering open auditions for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season. Known for its high-energy, street style hip hop performances and gravity-defying break dancing, the renowned dance team is seeking talented dancers to join their team.
“The Cavaliers Scream Team has been a staple of the Cavs game day experience, entertaining fans with their impressive moves and unmatched ability to hype up the crowd,” a Cavs Communication press release reads. “The team also plays a vital role in the Cleveland community, participating in various charitable events and special projects throughout the year.”
To audition, candidates must meet the following:
- 18 years of age or older by Aug. 1, 2024
- Have exceptional dance, performance and presentation skills
- Be willing attend practices twice a week, perform at all Cavs home games and community events in the Cleveland area
The audition process consists of two rounds. The first round requires participants to submit a 30 to 60 second video of them showcasing their funky hip-hop skills, including breakdancing, pop/lock or krumping. Any music that is used in the video must be clean and free of profanity. Videos must be submitted by midnight on July 25. Late Submissions will not be considered.
Selected dancers will then be invited to in-person auditions The final round will require dancers to learn a hip-hop style dance routine to perform in front of a panel of judges on the same day. An interview portion will take place during this round for the judges to learn more about each dancer.
