Cordero Giorgana, a real estate agent and political consultant, is also an amateur photographer who plans to document his trip to the convention on his YouTube channel, Alaska Unfiltered. Born in Mexico, he came to the United States at age 16 to study, and met his wife, an Alaskan, at Loyola University New Orleans.
Favorite living politician: Marco Rubio. “To me, he’s an inspiration, coming from a humble beginning, the son of immigrants, making it all the way to where he is right now.”
Plans for Cleveland: To photograph the city’s historic buildings, a break from his usual landscape and wildlife subjects. “In Alaska, there’s a lot of nature, not a lot of buildings. When I travel somewhere, I usually try to capture the architecture.”
Favorite fictional political characters: Ned Stark from Game of Thrones and Ambassador Sarek, Spock’s father in Star Trek. “They’re honorable. When they say something, that’s their word. Those are qualities I look for.”
Issue he’s passionate about: Public education. He’s for local control and against the unfunded mandates that come with federal funding. “I’m a former school board member. My wife is a public school teacher.”
His reaction to Trump’s comments on Mexicans: “I was very upset and horrified. He comes from a different generation, so I could forgive him. But those comments should not be made by a candidate for president.”
Fake Trump spokesperson name: Colonel Sanders. “It’s just the hair.”

Meet the RNC Delegate: Erick Cordero Giorgana
