Snapchat Filters
While professional photographs are a must, couples can add Snapchat geofilters to show off the location of their wedding. Snapchat provides templates from Photoshop and Illustrator, but also accept custom designs from other tools. The app has particular guidelines for its filter designs so be sure to review them before submitting. After submitting, select the day and time followed by the location for the filter by drawing a “geofence” around the location of the event on a map. These settings configure the price of the filter. For example, 35,000 square feet in downtown’s Public Square for five hours costs approximately $5.20. Create a matching hashtag for Instagram and you’re all ready to go.
Cleveland Welcome Bags
Nothing says welcome to CLE like a bag full of goodies that showcases the best of the Land. Couples can get creative with their offerings, providing sweet and savory snacks for hungry travelers from the likes of Malley’s Chocolates, King Nut and Campbell’s Sweets Factory. Light up their night with Root Candles, and provide keepsakes like Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum mementos, a Superman figurine (created in Cleveland by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster) or a mini leg lamp from A Christmas Story House. Other Cleveland-centric additions to a welcome bag include Bertman Original Ball Park Mustard, Great Lakes Brewing Co. beer and a bag of ground coffee or beans from the Erie Island Coffee Co. If you really want your guests to feel like a Clevelander, spring for a replica Cavaliers championship ring.
Cleveland Centerpieces
Table decor can help tell the story of any wedding, and couples that would like to include our fair city’s history in their own story can do so in many ways. For example, sepia-toned photos of Cleveland’s historical landmarks ensconced in vintage frames can give a classic look to the table. Location ideas are Severance Hall, the Arcade, West Side Market and the Old Courthouse. For some whimsical fun, instead of using table numbers to seat guests, seat them by well-known Cleveland streets (Lakeside, Euclid, West Sixth) or by equally well-known Cleveland athletes (LeBron James, Omar Vizquel and Jim Brown come to mind). Don’t forget to add Life Saver mints — a Cleveland original — to the table.
